I’ve written regular columns for Vice and Real Simple, an investigative feature for New York Magazine that was included in their One Great Story roundup, and one of the most popular Shouts humor columns of the year for The New Yorker.

My stories have appeared in The New York Times, Bon Appétit, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Saveur, Women’s Health, Men’s Journal, Good Housekeeping, Runner’s World, Better Homes & Gardens, and a bunch of other magazines that are now out of print (RIP!).

I’ve also written online for The New Yorker, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, NPR, McSweeney’s, Food & Wine, The Cut, Intelligencer, InStyle, Lucky Peach, Allure, Vice, Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, Refinery29, and the Food Network.

Before becoming a freelance journalist, I was in magazine publishing for 10 years. I used to work in New York City at—in backward chronological order—Fitness, Shape, Vanity Fair, Jane, and Us Weekly. Now I live in Portland, Oregon, where I pet a lot of dogs and (try to) lift heavy weights. I also write and edit for some of the world’s biggest brands.
